JEE - Overview
JEE is one of the most reputed engineering exams held in the country. The exam was conducted for the first time in 2001. In the last 13 years, this examination has gone on to become one of the most ambitious engineering entrance examinations in the country. Several engineering institutes in the country – from engineering colleges in Delhi to engineering colleges in Rajasthan consider AIEEE scores. This year the examination is slated to take place in
All aspiring engineers who want to grab a seat in the IITs and the NITs have to appear for the AIEEE. The usual pattern followed by the examination is objective type; the exam is divided into 2 different sections—BE/B.Tech and B. Arch/B.Planning.clip_image002
But how do you end up preparing yourself for the same? What are the things that you need to consider before you plan to sit for the AIEEE examinations? Understand that the questions are actually not that difficult – it’s just that they are different thus demanding a different approach towards solving them. Each question has a surprising element in it, and students who are adept in these terms are likely to crack it.
While hard work is the key to success, a well-thought-out preparation is a must in order to sail through the examination.
Chalked Out Revision Plan: The first step towards ensuring a preparation is a well-planned revision chart; divide your total time into sections with small goals set accordingly; however do not overestimate you time. It is very essential that you take breaks during your study. But also make sure that you leave enough time for in between so that you do not have to change plans.
Follow Previous Years’ Trends: Carefully study the trends followed in the yesteryears’ question patterns. Find out which topics you need to lay emphasis on. Prioritize and then start revising accordingly. Do not forget to review your plan accordingly. Understand that you need to plan accordingly and if you follow a disciplined routine, you are bound to taste success.
Work on Your Fundamentals: Yes, strengthening your fundamentals are essential. This is because most of the AIEEE questions are based on fundamentals and their applications; in order to master the fundamentals you have to be very focusses. Avoid consulting too many books at a time. Instead seek advice from your teacher and act accordingly. And also do not accomplish new learning every day; opting for a revision is more advisable.
Another important aspect is, quality is more important than quantity. Remember that the main motive is to sharpen your problem-solving skills, so begin with traditional methods of problem solving skills but also learn to improvise constantly and discover your own methods of short-cuts.
Experiences have shown that it’s better to have a definite problem in mind while studying for theory paper. Do not jump onto conclusions directly; the key to problem solving lie in understanding and finding out the clues to the problem. Once you have found the key, you will automatically have the solution.
Speed and Time Management: Managing time is highly significant. You have to juggle a lot many things at a time. So time management has to be effective enough. It has been observed that many students tend to lose out on nearly 20% of their marks because they are unable to manage their time. This happens due to fear and pressure.
On a final note all we can say is that, preparing for AIEEE requires dedication and patience. Ensure that you give both and put your best foot forward – then no one can stop you from tasting success.

This time table was given to him by his coaching class, catalyser. He added that they have even provided him with some study material also which he strictly followed and even solved many previous years question papers and mock tests. He was determined towards his preparations to crack IIT-JEE exam and with the help of catalyser he could see dreams come true.
